Introduction

It is my own personal experience to know that even though we may not like what family we are born into it is important to know where you come from.  If you had a wonderful childhood I pray with all my heart that you did not take it for granted.  However, I do know that there are many in this world who probably wished they were never born, but I firmly believe there is a designed purpose for each of our lives.  Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an unexpected end.  It is by my own experiences that I believe we are created for a unique design that we may never comprehend.  There is a time and purpose for everything under the sun and ones who have hurt you along the way will at some point get their deserved reward.  You reap what you sow so be very careful on how you look at life.  These are things I tell myself quite often when reflecting on the past.  I have made and met goals in my life even when all odds were against me.  I intend to pass down my genealogy because even the bad things should be told in order to hopefully keep someone in my future generations from making the same mistakes.  How do I know that they will get this information, because I was curious enough to know who I am that I began researching my family in 2001.  I have come along way in my research and intend to share it with all to make their research easier than what I had.  I started out with my parents names and my grandparents first names for the most part and everything else has fell in place from there.  Ancestory.com is the best place now in 2012 to connect, but you have to be very careful and cross examine each new information to make sure it is the correct family.  If your related to me in anyway I sure hope this site proves to be of help to you in your research.  If you have any questions and I am still alive please leave a comment and I am sure to get it and get back with you.  Blessing in your search.

Canaga (Gnagi) from Norway as far back as I got

I started with just the first 3 generations and now I have my dad's dad's side back to Ezechiel Gnagi born 1515 married to Benedikta unknown last name possibly from Norway
Then in 1742 Johannes Gnagi went to the America's arrived at Pennsylvania. His son Christian Gnaegi (Canaga) arrived in Pennsylvania in 1750. He was a carpenter and they were Amish (Then known as Dunkard, The Church of the Brethern).

Info taken from the Historical Collections of Harrison County in the State of Ohio.
Christian Canaga originally spelled Gnaegi emigrated from Berne province Switzerland, to America before the revolution 1750-70, and afterwards settled in Somerset county, Penn., whence he removed to North Township, Harrison County, Ohio, about 1807, where he died in 1812. This was my great-grandfather just four generations ago.

I have a lot of information on this family recorded on Ancestory. com as well as pictures. I absolutely love finding pictures to put with a name.

My Family Tree

My family history of what I have learned about myself.  My full name is Sylvia May Charlotte Canaga.  I  was born January 11, 1973 at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro, AR.  I presently as of today, June 26, 2012 am still living.  Really no joke!  I am married to Corey Ray Clemons from Van Buren, MO as of April 21, 2001 at our church Peace Tabernacle in Paragould AR.  He was born April 16, 1971. (UPDATE: We divorced Oct 28,2014)   Just to add Van Buren, Mo is my favoritest place in the world and one day I am going to retire there and that's all I got to say about that.  LOL!

I have my little brother I raised as my own son Larry Jo Manes.  He was born June 8, 1986 in Jonesboro, AR and is almost a daddy himself with Bobbie Jane Watts. UPDATE: They have two sons Wyatt Eli Manes born Nov 14, 2012 and Kolby Ryan Manes born Feb 21, 2015

I also have a daughter Hannah May Manes from a previous marriage.  Which we divorced in January of 1999.  She was born January 29, 1997 also in Jonesboro AR.

I do hope they keep this tree going to pass down to their children's children, but of course I have almost completed their own genealogy tree's as well as mine.

My actual tree is on Ancestory.com  http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/3749914 if this helps anyone because this tree keeps going and going.
